Controlling Your Brand Image
Austin Cope
One of the most important assets for any retail business are those that promote a company’s brand image. A company’s branded assets exist in the retail environment and usually consist of signs, point of purchase and internal merchandising units. Many companies find effective and orderly management of their brand to be a challenge. Identifying issues with regards to consistency, maintenance, value and control of brand image will assist in providing realistic solutions to problems your company may be facing.

The Value of a Brand Fan

New customers can be hard to come by at any time (let alone right now), so it’s good practice in any business to make the most of the customers you already have. Selling one more item to a shopper who is already in your store or on your website can make an immediate difference to your business, and encouraging customers to move up the “loyalty ladder” can show even greater returns over the long term.

Clever Logo Design Using Negative Space
Many organisations rate branding as one of their most important assets, and therefore they spend a great deal of time developing their logo to ensure it is effective in capturing the attention of their target audience. Client Update
Updates on Signmanager's latest projects, including a Melbourne CUB icon and Aldi

Arcadia VB Sign

In 2009 Signmanager took on the project management of the restoration of the Arcadia Hotel Victoria Bitter sign. This was an opportunity to restore a Melbourne icon utilising modern technology. The 128sq m sign was restored using GE Contour (LED Neon imitation) rather than the traditional neon. This ensured an energy efficient and maintenance free solution.

Signmanager's Dave Cann headed the project and had this to say. “This sign is an example that the new LED neon imitation products have arrived, and has impressed those Neon faithful. We even used Neon supports instead of the contour supplied fixings to space the product off the face of the letter for the true neon effect, and matt finished the inside of the letters to better disperse the light in the channel letters and to also prevent the beading effect reflecting from the rear of the LED stripping.”

The sign was made in the early 1960s, and revamped in the 80's. CUB are applying for a heritage listing for the well-known sign. If successful it will join other Melbourne neon icons including the Nylex Clock and Skipping Girl.

Aldi

Our Gold Coast team recently completed a prototype pylon sign for Aldi featuring a digital display. The prototype is 8mts x 2.3mts pylon sign with a full colour LED display. The LED is run remotely from Aldi’s head office with a designated computer set up with the software package.

The store has received positive feedback from the public, who are heading into the store for the specials advertised on the sign.

Cummins

We recently finished our first Cummins branch fit-out in Mt Gambier. Cummins, a global leader in engine manufacture and associated industries, recently adopted a vibrant new look for their corporate brand. As part of the rebranding process, Signmanager have been engaged to carry out the interior design and implementation for a revamp of their customer facing areas at facilities across the Asia Pacific Region. The Mt Gambier branch below shows an example of the new look reception and parts and service areas.
